How to record HD on Media Center?

I am trying to watch and record the hd channels that i get via cable. Currently I can only pick up the non hd channels, but it is horrible quality and i'd really like to get the hd ones too. I was told that with windows 7 media center, hd options would be more available but i am unable to configure it. I have a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 950 which does pick up hd (on an antenna at least).

I bought mine from Best Buy. I also bought the 950 Hauppauge . I took it back.I bought the AVerMedia hybrid volar max which is usb. lot better quality and a lot more channels. At least 3 times the channels if not more.

the most channels come from the Aver Media center that came with it. Im also using windows 7 pro.
