I cannot access the username and password info from the autofill function of my Duckduckgo browser.
I open the browser, select the menu icon at upper right, select "passwords and autofill", select "passwords", and I get msg. saying: "DDG is trying to unlock access to your password and autofill info for you" + "enter your password to allow this" and an icon of a head and shoulders which indicates username, followed by [the device name of my laptop\the password for my MS account]. To clarify, it looks like DEVICENAME\PASSWORD except the correct letters are used.
Below that is a line requesting a password but nothing I have tried works, and I have no idea why the password is displayed on the previous line as if it is a part of the device name. There seems to be no way to delete the erroneous info from the first line. Yet, my hotmail address plus this same password entered on the correct lines as requested will log me into my hotmail account which I have never used. My notes indicate it is the password I used to set up the laptop. Maybe it is wrong, but how do I find out? Any ideas what to do or where to look next? Maybe uninstall and reinstall DDG to clear all autofill info? That could set me up for a whole new set of problems and I still would not know my correct MS password...
Any ideas or suggestions welcome. TIA.
