I have XP Pro and Vista Home.
Now my system is very slow becos of vista, so i removed it(Vista).

When i had both the OS , i start the system with 'Windows Boot Manager' to select between XP and Vista.

After removing the Vista there is only Windows XP, but i still get the 'Windows Boot Manager' with Vista and Earlier version of Windows (i.e., XP) as the selection options when i start the system.

How to remove this windows boot manager?

I want to get straight XP.

I searched and there is boot.ini.backup in c:\windows\pss\

Is there any options in the RUN->MSCONFIG->BOOT.INI(tab) ?
Please guide me.

You need to remove the Vista bootloader by running the command with the Vista DVD in a drive.

Go to “Start” and “Run”. Type in “e:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 ALL /force” (without quotes, and replacing e: with the drive letter of your Vista DVD).

Should take care of it for you!

M$ made removing the boot loader quite easy with that command, I hear. Normally you'd have to insert the XP cd, load into the recov console and Fixmbr/fixboot, which would have solved it as well.

The one thing Vista did right. :P
