How to replace boot drive in a 2 drive system?

How do I carry out a boot drive replacement in a 2 drive system where one of those drives is a slave for storage?

I have a Dell 2400 system (XP pro SP3 BIOS A05) with a Maxtor 40GB boot drive [C:] and a Seagate 300GB slave drive [D:] (Seagate ST3300631A-RK) for storage. Drives are IDE ultra ATA/100.

I just bought a new Seagate 300GB drive. I want to clone the old Maxtor 40GB boot drive onto this new Seagate 300GB drive. Then I want to take the old 40GB boot drive out of the system, leaving me with the newly cloned Seagate as boot drive [C:] and the existing Seagate slave drive [D:] as storage.

I assume there must be a sequence of cable disconnects/connects and change of jumper settings that happens along with the use of Seagate DiscWizard cloning software but I'm not sure how to go about it with the slave drive in the configuration.

easiest way would be to disconnect your existing seagate slave drive, hook up your new drive and use a drive clone program like e a s e u s drive copy or similar to clone your 40gb into the new 300gb, then just disconnect the 40gb and setup your new drive as master and reconnect your other 300gb seagate as the slave again.
