How to restore files deleted from a laptop after upgrade Win 7 to Wind 10?

Is it possible restore files (like DOC, PDF) deleted from a laptop (at least from the basket too) and upgrade from Win 7 to Wind 10 was done?
I do not know upgrade was done before or after the removal of files.

You can try using something like recuva. If there has been a large amount of data written since deletion, your chances will be really low that the data wasn't overwritten on the drive though.

if this happened during the process of the upgrade, and you chose to "reserve nothing" when upgrading, your data might has been overwritten. If not, you may be able to recover some of them. Anyway, just use some data recovery tools to see of they can get anything. Recuva as mentioned above is a good one, Easeus data recovery or 7 data recovery. Easeus data recovery can deep scan the partitions or hard drive.

If you performed a upgrade to Windows 10, or a custom install of Windows 10 on the same partition as the previous Windows installation without doing a clean install, then you will have a C:\Windows.old folder in your new installation afterwards. The Windows.old folder contains a copy of the previous Windows installation, and can be quite large in Be sure to copy any files that you may want out of the Windows.old folder before you delete it.
