How to restore NTLDR in XP?

When ever i restart my computer in XP it says NTLDR i missing.
How to restore NTLDR in XP?

I have even tried using XP boot CD -> Recovery Console ->fixmbr

it didnt work.

any suggestions pls.

I have done this
copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\

But no change.
When i restart and select XP , its show the same thing 'NTLDR missing'

Other than pointing at sites as I'm sure you have searched as well I can't be of much help.
I seems there could be a number of causes and not just missing files. This site gives a number of reasons and the solutions if you have'nt seen it before.

If you are able to, press F8 or whichever key you press to go to the different boot options. Then select "Last good known configuration". It should resolve the issue.
