There should be one account with administrator rights. If you don't have access to that account, then mabe you shouldn't be asking...

Rules

all windows users already run as admin because of how windows is designed, the thing is you are probably logged in as a managed user.

Need more information.

Is this your computer?

Why are you running a japanese version of vista?

What is your environment? Is this a work computer or school computer or your personal computer?

I am logged in as admin, but when I try to perform some file deletions on process explorer, a window comes up and says that I need to run in administrator to perform the task. (I will look at user options in PE).

Yes this is my computer.

I live in Japan.

Home computer.

And just for some extra info, I can read Japanese fluently, however this is not the problem. I did not use a computer until I came here which was some 15 years ago and although the setup is relatively similar some applications are in different spots and others require different commands.(I have never used an English version of windows) Why not go onto a PC forum here in Japanese? Well to answer that, forums like this one are almost non-existant, they do have a primitive style of forum that resembles a blog but the problem is that not many people frequent these. On the other hand an English based site has people from all around the wolrd posting info which is a much, much bigger resource.

Thanks bro, your a great help!

But just in case you don't understand the forum rules , #1 :I did not ask for anything that would be an atempt at cracking.
And Just to clarify, do YOU consider asking where a program is placed on the computer an act that infringes on the rules, if so then half the threads are in that breach and I apologise.

In my experiences, this is absolutely not against the forum rules. Vista blocks administrator rights on my computer too. I need to enable the admin rights to play BF2 or Halo.

As long as he's on the administrator account, that's perfectly normal.

Right click on the program icon, whether it be on the desktop or wherever. Click compatibility, and check "Run program as an administrator".

Vista has this problem or trying to be "safe". XP users will not encounter this problem, although Vista users will, and I being one, knows that this is perfectly normal.

Thats what I was looking for, thanks, I knew it was there somewhere but I just could not find it. :)

Thanks.
I believe this is a safety accessory that comes with vista so you can run under admin account ,but at the same time not be logged in as admin for PC security when on the net. (well that was my understanding)

Hmm... maybe has something to do with Virtual PC?
