How to set RAID?

Read my specs and see my hard drives I want. But how do I set RAID? And would it be possible to use the 150 gigger for my OS and games? And the 250 for pictures movies and what not?

If you are gonna set up raid you need same size hard drives. If you set it up with what you have now you will be losing 100 GB of hard drive space. Raid will only use the lowest size hard drive as the array. So if you have a 150 GB and a 250 GB drive, then the raid array will only use 150 gb out of the 250 gb and you will lose the balance of 100gb. Raid is setup in the raid utility but first you must enable raid in the bios before the raid utility will appear when you boot the computer. ASUS is usually ctrl-I to get into the raid utility once its been enabled in the bios.

Ok, getting dual 150 gigs is a little spendy. SO, can I just go with a 150 gaming hard drive running at 10000 rpm with a 160 7200 rpm hard drive? So i just lose 10 gigs?

I suppose you could but why, what kind of RAID are you trying to set up? A RAID0 will do very little for you unless you are working with large files not to mention you already have a 10k drive. Pairing it with a drive that is 7200rpm is just a little silly ;)

..You know your right. I'm just setting up a list for when I have my the computer I'm building now for a while, I'll just upgrade things like the mobo do the DDR3 system with RAM and dual out the graphics card. So I'll just put a nother 150 gigger on the list. I'll just stick with the single 150 and so I can learn more about all the stuff.

Just set one up as a slave, you dont have to have a RAID set up.
