How to set up a network

Hi there,

I'm on Win 7 & 8.

Someone set up a network for me on my 2 different computers so I can copy files from one computer to another.

Now I have a new computer & I need to get the files from my laptop to that new one.

Can you give me instructions on how to create the network for the 3rd computer.

How are your PCs connected now? With a wire running between then or do you have a box between them that you plugged wires into

It sounds like you already have the network part set up if they can already access the internet. You'll either need to set up a home group or some shared folders depending on how it was originally done.

Yeh I think it's a home group.

But I didn't do it & I don't know the password.

So how do I do that on the new computer?

If you don't know the password you'll have to break the existing homegroup and set it up with a new one and the same password between PCs.
