Okay so i purchased a cable to hook up my other TV and ive plugged it all in, the display doesnt show on the new TV?!

Is there something i need to enable first?

I realise this is probably quite a nooby question, but thanks :)

(I have right clicked the desktop and go onto screen resolution and it definately recognises a second monitor but it fails to show anything?)

I have also tryed The Windows Key+P but that doesnt do anything either!

Could it be a bios thing?

Thanks

First, what cable did you use?
Second, is the TV on the correct input?
Third, select the TV in display properties, click it, and be sure it's set to "Extend my desktop onto this monitor"

1. I used a DVI to HDMI cable from my GTX 560 ti!
Heres a thread about it if needed(it has the link to it aswell):http://www.computerforum.com/210180-dvi-cable-get.html

2. Well im not 100% sure as i havent used it for a while, but ive checked all the inputs and none of them display anything!

3.I think ive tried that but what do you mean by display properties and how do i get there? If its different to screen resolution then i havent been there!

Thanks a bunch :)

On your task bar, where the sound, internet, and clock are, look for the Nvidia settings icon. You may have to click the arrow for more options. In there, go to "set up multiple displays." If it does not see your other monitor, something is wrong with the monitor or cable.

Do you have the second monitor turned on?

Alternatively, hold the windows key and press P.

Voyagerfan: It is set up as extended.

Claptonman: Okay clicked that, it can see it but im not sure it doesnt seem to work :/

EDIT: I am wandering could it be because im using the HDMI port and the DVI port from my card as opposed to 2 DVI ports? Just a thought its all i can think of.

Okay so i managed to get it to show the input, how ever the picture is really wierd, the screen looks polarized, for example my mostly black background is green and the lighter parts are pink....

I have no idea whats going on!?

Done that, i think its a problem with the TV, tried the cable with my first TV and it works fine, no problems at all.....

Any reason my TV could not work? It is using 1080i whereas my main TV is 1080p? Would that matter?

EDIT: Begining to think it might be bust, i will try with other things like my PS2 and xbox shortly.

EDIT 2: tried xbox with different cable but same slot, same problem, now i will try the PS2 in the RCA slots.

EDIT 3: Finally good news(ish) the RCA connection for my PS2 works, so either the HDMI slot needs a clean or is dead i dont know, im stuck now, the TV is all fine except the HDMI slot, the cable is fine and as is the GPU -____-

EDIT 4: Im just using a VGA cable now :)
