How to speed up windows explorer?

I have a folder with 1000 video files and windows explorer takes a long time to populate all the columns (name, date, type, size, length)


are there any registry tweaks to speed up the population of these lists?

Registry tweaks, no. You can however disable the windows search/indexing services and reboot your computer.

Disk fragmentation might be an issue as well.

With a 1000 files it will take some time to finish. It would also help if you would make different folders for each type of video to split them up and better organization.
