how to tell if mobo ded

i have a p4 sata asus board with no on board video if the mobo is ded will it still give beep code or is it possable the video card is dead i get no os or bio screen but turns on and off normal. and light up hd light runs cpu fan.any idea to trouble shoot or is it a total loos and gold scrap it.

You mean only right after you hit the button? It should blink as the OS is loading, if it was just the video that was fried. If it doesn't then something is wrong more than the video. It could be the mobo, CPU, or RAM.
