Hi guys, so i just finished building my new rig,
before proceeding to OC it, I need help on how to check each part of my system to make sure its ok, for example, my ram what program to use to check that its running at 1600 and not 1333 or if i got a bad ram, also my ssd Read/writte speed being 500mb/s + and not 250ish and so on.

Could you please post at least 2 reliable and good program to test:

RAM

SSD

Also, what program to use to check my CPU/GPU speed, voltage and temp, fan speed.

Much appreciated guys

Use Memtest to test your RAM. You can download the utility onto a flash drive. Follow the directions on the website. You will have to boot to the flash drive.

HDtune will test your SSD. You will not see constant 500mb/s speeds. Not even close. Its just the max they got to while testing.

CPUz will show your memory speed. Be aware that it will show it as 800mhz. This is normal, since its double data rate RAM.

Thanks, but in my BIOS (UD5H) it shows my cpu at 3.888ish instead of 3.4 like what i have in stock - which is fine i think cuz of auto boost?

but my my ram in the same bios shows 1333 ish when its supposed to be 1600

even in cpu Z it shows 667 (which in x2 = 1333 and not 1600)

Go into the bios and enable XMP settings for memory if that board has them or just manually change the speed and timings to what they should be.

Thanks buddy.

i fixed the problem ... all i had to do its set the XMP to profile 1 from default

dang ... in windows rating ... with the 1333 was 7.6 and now with 1600 is rating me 7.8 ... should i OC it to 1800 to get the 7.9?

And personally I don't trust overclocked RAM. Linus from NCIX even tested HyperX memory and it's OC, it became slower in some features when OC'd.

Alrite, Ima leave it at 1600 with my ram

Board closed - thank you everyone

PS: Im heading to MOBO/CPU section for a newby guy OC UD5H W/ 3570K, can you post some link if you know any? if not its ok, i'll ask when I go there
