Well, I'm trying to Transfer my VCR video tape to my computer and I don't no if this is the correct topic or forums but it is the only one I find in the computer discussion that is good. First, I don't no what to do. Second, What do I need in my system. Third my system is a windows Xp I think 2003 But With all the new drivers and programs. Fourth, What Type Of cords I need. Fifth How am I supposed to hook them up. Finally, Sixth My VCR is a "4- Head Hi-Fi VCR at least that's what it says?

Thanks for answering my question Have a Great day and Thank You!:D

lots of hardware on the market. I purchased a Dazzle from bestbuy years ago. there cheap enough now. come with all the hardware, cables and software.

what you have to do is get a video capture card or a tv tuner with composite or s video in port(whichever one your vcr uses). the card should come with some dvr software. plug in your vcr into the card with the correct cable, and then use your softwares instructions to learn how to record the input video and sound. then put the tape you want to move to pc in the vcr, press play on vcr, when picture comes up on computer, start recording/saving. Whala! You have converted your vcrs to pc files! also, then if you have a dvd burner, you can burn your videos to a dvd.

there are a couple ways to do it. Personally, I use my miniDV camcorder to capture the video from the VCR and then just use firewire to capture it into the computer with Windows Movie Maker.

If you have a camcorder that can do that, its a nice cheap way of doing it. But it is time consuming if you're going to be doing a lot of video.
