How to turn off 2nd core.

umm... yes sometimes games have been known to run so fast that they indeed crash... to answer your question i believe it can be done under the task manager... read this article...
 
I dont think thats the problem.

Some games and apps actually can crash if they are trying to utilize both cores.

To turn it off, launch the game and then launch the task manager, right click on the process, click on affinity, and then select only one core.

and you have to do that everytime you want to play that game? or can you bind it to that core, so you dont have to set it everytime?

Everytime you restart the process it sets back to default, so yeah, you need to do that everytime. But i've heard of some programs that can automatically select it for only one core.

It's not a common problem, crashing in games. I've had two dual-core processors and I never ran into any issues.
