How to use 2 hard drives in 1 computer (installation)

Hey guys, sorry to make 2 posts about 1 topic (well, different question but same topic)

Here is my question:

I'm using 2 hard drives in my new PC, one is a SATA and the other is an IDE. Both are hooked up and functional.

My IDE has Windows Vista and my new one (SATA) has nothing on it yet, IE: No operating system).

My question is, when I boot up my computer for the first time, will my PC automatically read the Windows Vista or will I need to set the drives up in some way? My friend said that it could get compliated if my hard drives are read as D and E or something, I'm not too sure about this.

are you moving the vista hard drive to a new computer or have you upgraded things? or was the vista hard drive already installed on this pc with the current parts?
 
You will need to go into the bios and set the correct one to boot to. Usually an IDE controller will override the sata and will change the boot drive. So just go into the bios and make sure the one with vista on it is set to boot drive.
