How to use gparted live

I need to know how to use Gparted live, not just actually using the program but downloading it and getting it on to a bootable cd. I have it downloaded and I open it with Winrar but I don't know where to go from there.

I just reinstalled Windows Vista and I am having more problems than before. I was told to use Gparted instead of the utility that comes with Vista since it is only a quick format which from what I understand can cause problems. Are there any other programs that would be a better choice?

I am trying to use this to format then reinstall Windows Vista. I want to use something other than the Windows Vista utility to format.

I got it the image burned to a disc. It automatically booted from the cd and now I am clueless. There are several options to choose from. How do I know which one to use?

There were no options to choose any partition. I had no idea what the options meant. The only option I can remember is the Auto Configuration.

I will boot from the cd again and see what the other options are.

Nevermind, I think I know what to do, kind of.

I figured out how to get to the program. I chose the first option, default settings. For the hard drive I want to format, do I just delete the whole partition? I did not see an option to format. There was a delete option. Is that the same thing as format? What do I do after that? Do I restart with the Windows cd in and install Windows from there?
