ok have a good computer at home .2 cores 4k ram and alo of others things that i have no idea what they are for .but it got realy slow for some reason over the summer .can someone tell me how do i reduce RAM and CPU comsumption? curently it is running at around 50-60% of ram being uzed up and cpu around there some where . who can help me pls

specs aside, there are basic steps to take. check your startup apps, and make sure there arent a bunch of unwanted/unused programs loading on startup. clean the regestry, defrag your hard drive, and run a virus/adware/spyware scan to clean it up.

get a program called jv16 powertools 2008. it cleans the registry, lets you choose which programs run on startup, and other handy things.

system mechanicis also a great program. you could also hit ctrl+alt+del and look to see what process is using all you cpu
