How do I figure out what is the required psu power for a video card ? In other words, how do I find out the power consumption of a video card.

I know there is more to consider than only the video card and I know that 500 watts of a bad PSU isn't the same as 500 watts from a good one.

For a rule of thumb, a good 500 watt can handle any GPU now, and a good 600 watt can handle SLI/Crossfire now. If you want cheap ones, 650 and 750+.

If you check online, google some things, you should find a formula for how large of a psu you need.

Some will disagree with the wattage but at least 30 amps on dual 12v rail is necessary and a good amount of amperage and a efficiency of 80% plus, at full load, is what I consider a good psu.
