How would you send a song as an attachment?

If I was sending a song as an attachment, is it possible to send it in a zip drive that would be smaller? If so, how do you send it as a zip? I'm pretty dumb when it comes to those type of things.

wow readthis wrong lmfao..

um zip drive.. dont believe so...
id take the single file. get winzip, and compress it in that.. it will be pretty dang small :)

No, not really. It might depend on the file itself. If it is an .mp3 files, these have been compressed already and the chances of they being compressed further is unlikely. Zipping it, you might save a couple kilobytes, but not much.

If you want to send something, .rar might work a little better. Then there is also 7-zip also as another option.

Ok, pretend that I'm an idiot (but just pretend, don't really think it), but what is a .rar? And what's a 7-zip? Are these programs that I need to download?

You are speaking of an email attachment and a music file, right? If so, just attach it to the email just like you would with any other file. You probably don't need to compress it.

.rar and .7-zip are alternative's to .zip. So, basically they all are compression formats you can use to compress files, which you are trying to do. Yes, they are programs, just like winzip.

You can use a program called izarc which allows you to choose which compression software you want to use and supports all formats. Check it out. It's freeare (No Spyware) and I've used it for years: http://www.izarc.org/
