How would you spend $2500 (aust)?

Hey I'm just about to begin ordering parts for my new PC from scratch (minus peripherals)...

Tell me how would do it...I've been waiting a long time to do this so I want to make the most of my money.

might as well get an hx1000w for a modular psu. otherwise I agree with the build. might change that cpu cooler to the new coolit vantage (FRIKKIN EPIC) :eek:
 
Thanks heaps guys...I was thinking about getting a solid state drive just to run windows off?...also thinking I'll probably get 2 of those caviar blacks...
 
I did not find any legitimate review for the coolit vantage just it description and launch news and also its price but didnt find any trustable reviews like from hardocp or tomshardware nor did i find its benchmarks.
Only found reference to the awards it has won etc
and it is also very expensive for a standalone closed loop liquid CPU cooler
 
An SSD would be good for a boot drive, in that case you'll want a 64GB one for windows and any steam games as they have to be on C:\ for some reason.
 
Yeah an SSD would be I did not add it since I assumed the Computer parts are expensive ikn australia and did not want to go over budget
 
well, hard to answer not knowing what you want as an end product but here's what i'd do:

Antec 900 Case - $115
Asus mobo - $75
Phenom II x6 - $250
6gb Tri-Chan Corsair - $270
Blu-Ray Reader/DVD Writer - $200
Orion 750W PSU - $75
ATI 5750 - $150
Asus 22" LCD - $200
Whatever Keyboard/Mouse - $25
Western Digital Cav Green 1tb/64mb cache - $100
Local Strip Club - $1040
 
^ Screw that. 5750 is not going to get you far. grab a 5850 and cut down on the strip club :P

Also, is a blue ray reader really necessary? i think not.
