You don't have to change anything. The only setting you might want to change is changing the default video output to AGP, so the BIOS doesn't start looking for PCI graphics cards, but its not essential. You can just whack the card in and it will work, even if your motherboard has integrated graphics, it should automatically turn off.
 
exactly what i did. now theres no picture wen i turn my computer on. You have to plug the monitor into the back of the graphics card dont you?
 
Yes you do have to plug the monitor into the new card.
do it this way, plug the monitor into the onboard vid card goto
device manager and disable the onboard card and shut the computer down
move your monitor cord to the new vid card and boot it back up and you should be good.

Dude, use some logic and common sense man, how else do you expect the information to travel from the video card to the monitor? Do you think it will do it wirelessly? This is reminiscent of another incident with a user who bought a new graphics card, but phoned back to complain that it wasn't working, only to find that the card was still in its box, he thought you just have to place it "near" the computer for it to work. :confused:
