Hey all,

Ive finaly come up with the confidence to put up a build list.

Now please dont laugh at my list,Some parts may be incompatible or simply bad parts but for my next system my cousins gonna be building the computer for me so he asked me to build up a list of components that i would like it to be based on and he would check it over before i buy.

This isnt gonna be my oficial build but how good does this look or a gaming rig?

Here it is...

Dunno about this card yet.

Yes i know ive missed out Cd drives and an Os but i will get that at a later date (Probably Vista)

My budget is about £800 which is about 1,502 USD.

I think this build just came over £850 - 1,595 USD but sadly Firefox crashed on me and i lost the total price.

Hi PC eye,

Are Rosewill power supplys bad then?

Well il have to look into getting one of those Antecs then.

I looked into OCZ ram because i heard they are realy good so thats why i choose that ram and not only would it look better in my case than the Mushkin:D

I want my next system to be built for gaming,So 2Gb is a must for memory.

Is that particular Graphics card i choose good or not?

As i stated this wont be my final build,Not gettin it for a while yet so parts will be diffrent and will definatly be AMD again but i just wanted to see how all my list fitted together and if it was good.

Am2 i will consider but not Intel.

Im not saying intel are no good,Its just i prefer to stay with Amd.:)

I have read many articles for the battle between AM2 and Core 2 Duo. Tests shown that Intel is around 10-15% better. However, who knows, the tests may be rigged.

Staying AMD simply because your a fanboy, is a horrible reason. The truth is the Intel Core 2 Duo's are more then 15% better, and would be the best choice, no question.

Yes for now they are, but i can guarantee AMD will fight back hard and then Amd will be better than Intel again.

I myself am an AMD person aswell, right now though since the release of the DUO CORE 2, the prices are way to high for the standard consumer i believe unless you get a pre-built system, I know alot ofyou will probably bash me up for this but once the price of the CORE 2 lowers perhaps i may get a 2nd high end computer the Apple iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz, or Apple iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz Computer With 24" Monitor but it will take a couple months/few months for the price to go down.

And also in response to the amd fighting back, AMD did buy out ATI, so I'm just waiting for them to come up with something kick ass for a video card as well

I've managed to collect a list of both good and crap brand supplies. Rosewill just happened to be on the "BAD" list there. Nothing wrong with having 2gb of ram since many of the games out and that will come out are "memory hungry"! I would give the edge back to ATI since the 7900 line was seeing some complaints. But that could be from people cooking their cards too fast.

Oh really... I've always had the best results with AMD. They have been far better then those Intel models I had years back. AMD saved the day! We'll see when the Quad core models are out what happens to C2s then. AMD has always been known as the performance brand. I'll just wait for their better days ahead. :D

agreed, amd had intel by the nuts when the 64bit came out, but this time round intel jus wipe the floor with performance on the dual core, i went for the e6600 with the 4mb cach its brill
