This problem is getting really annoying. Everytime i hit print, nothing happens. When i check the printer status, it says "document-printing", but it also says (#)documents in queue. I hit resume, cancel, restart, but nothing happens.
I even reinstalled the printing software.

The only way I can get it to work is to restart my computer. Only then, will it print. It's getting really annoying because I should not be required to restart my computer everytime i need to print.

Please help, thanks.

Windows has a major problem with the printer spooler... Perhaps your problem is just from windows and not the printer itself...

Go to run, and paste "%Systemroot%\System32\Spool\Printers" into the line(minus the ") You should get a Printers window pop up. Right click inside the window and select properties. From here deselect the read only attribute, then click OK. This SHOULD allow you to easily remove documents from the print spooler, but I've still had similar problems on occasion.

I had a similar problem with one of these 1200s: whenever I started the HP software to scan a document, all that happened was that my floppy drive would start seeking and the entire PC would freeze up. I was forced to hold the power switch down to shut down and then reboot. To add insult to injury, the only way I could remove the HP software was to download a 40MB update... not easy with dialup. The update didn't help, so I gave up and returned the 1200 to the store.
