hp 250 g2 flickering screen

Hi I have this laptop in for repair and it has confused me a bit.

on the laptop screen you get what can only really be described as flickering from side to side , if I connect external display then both screens are fine, if I uninstall the graphics driver and leave it with the generic driver its then fine, but any of the drivers both off hps website and off intels website make it have this issue .I have also ran the windows memory test over the weekend and that came back fine, so short of reapplying the image to this laptop I'm not sure were to go next. Any ideas ?
 
Something is probably up with the onboard video. It's happened before. If a fresh install doesn't solve it then its shot.
 
Thanks for the response, I think I'm going to have to wait a bit for that though as my manager who is the one who can deploy the images is away at the moment
 
still no further progress with this, tried the re image with no success ,my college thought it would the the lcd panel in the laptop so we purchased a new screen which arrived today but that also made no difference so we are now looking to see if getting a used motherboard off ebay will sort it, if that doesnt work then its going to have to be a new laptop
 
Yeah it wasn't the screen, its the onboard video on the motherboard that is bad.
