HP AC pwer adapter

I have a Compaq Presario X 6000 Laptop Specs:
P4 3 GHz
512 DDR2
ATI Radeon x600 256mb Video
17inc wide screen with bright view
It is being powered by a 19v 135w AC adapter. When this adapter started to make semi loud noises (Like and old hard drive) I called HP to send me a new one. Today I get a box from HP with a normal Desktop power cable in it :mad: . While I was talking to the HP tech rep. He said it was a power cable to a 180-watt, 19VDC power adapter." I don’t believe him". He also said that the 180w adapter is needed to my system. Can anyone help me with that?
 
ok thanks. I'll tack your word on the manual because it would tack me 30 mins to open (28.8 dial up)

just make sure to look on the computer itself and make sure it is rated for 180w and not just 135w. i would hate for it to fry your comp.
