Anyone know anything about these?

Anybody own one?..My buddy was telling me about them today and I had never heard of them.

The new "VooDoodna" gaming pc with a promo seen at http://h20435.www2.hp.com/#/HOME

The page there will take a few seconds to load up and a click on one of the buttons suddenly sees the screen move across from the left side revealing the second where a full product description is presented. Each link also loads for each catagory there.

Air cooled, Liquid cooled cpu, and liquid cooled cpu and gpu are the three main options as well as the staggering price tags seen on them! https://h20435.www2.hp.com/Default.aspx

You can put together a great gaming system with an air conditioned case ordered separately for quite a bit less if you are a smart shopper/builder!

You can put a case together that will do more for less and generally end up with a quality build over whatever they simply toss in. The prices there are closing in on what Alienware charges for a custom ordered gaming machine.

The they get you with is simply you pay for the case and the way it looks! I think I would simply go for an air conditioned case for a price like $100US... http://www.xoxide.com/nextherm-air-conditioned-460w-psu.html over spending the extra thousands and simply add in liquid coolers for about $200-$300 a pop. I will even toss the supply included just for the case seen at the link there.

You can't really mean $2,000-$6,000 is 'expensive"? :P

They'll still get it since people with the extra do re' me and no idea what can be seen in a custom case for much less. A maxed out gaming rig with liquid cooling setups for the both cpu and video card, hefty supply, and a higher priced case might reach around the $2,000 mark with extra hardwares as well as paying some $500 for a certain brand new high end video card as well as $200 for a new board.

The basics tossed into the fancy case there that much since you are simply paying out for the case. Then you would see it still sell since someone's parents are looking for something their kid wants and are totally non pc people to put it that way and will pay out for it.

I'm sure that you can, but the HP blackbird is amazingly engineered. Of course you can always put together a case for less, but it won't be as stable as the blackbird. Everything in the blackbird is engineered to be stable, and compatible with each other. Also, you get HP support, which is always a positive. It takes someone with great modding skills to put together something like or similar to blackbird.

Granted experience in building is required but not that too far out of reach. The new performance model boards, cpus, and video cards(mid to high end) all have that in mind with AI tools, overdrive, and ocing capablity.

The Blackbird offers a degree more flexibility for choosing from a larger list of options compared the typical prebuilds. But you still pay through the nose for seeing just that.

As far as the case by itself people custom manufacture their own cases having worked with materials like a machinist/tool+die, wood working, etc. pccupationally. Then add a little practical experience in choosing hardwares for gaming builds and there you have it. Support? Custom builders get support for each item separately anyways.
