HP Compac V3000 Optical drive problem

Sir, i need your help. Sometimes the optical drive of HP Compaq V3000 can be detected in BIOS but most of the time it can not be detected even in Vista already. Please help what would i do with this.
 
Since you are saying that it only sometimes is being detected in the bios then it seems you may have either a loose cable going to the drive or a problem with the drive itself. Make sure all cables are tight, try using a different drive if possible.
