Hp compaq NX4700 wi-fi problem

i cant seem to be able to enable wireless on my laptop.. i have the drivers.. but when i open the wireless assistant it says wifi is off and that drivers are not installed or there is no network adapter
i enabled wireless from the bios ad from the switch.. i dont know what else to do..

Does the network adapter appear in the Device Manager on the computer as working or are there any issues with it?

under what name should that adapter apear there ?
"network adapter" ? or smth else ?
