Hey guys heres a question for all you tech guys. I have an old HP dc5700 and ordered a VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 4350 512 MB DDR2 PCI Express Graphics Card.

I am trying to hook my computer up to a huge 40-something inch flat screen. The tv has a pc-in connector but when i hook it up, is says invalid signal. I talked to someone briefly and he said you should be able to run it on the tv if you turn your resolution all the way down. I did so and nothing changed, still invalid signal. I am using the standard VGA monitor cable.

Any suggestions will help.

Start with the highest resolution, and work your way down. I run nvidea exclusively, but my card has resolutions for both TV and PC, sometimes it takes a bit of tweaking, though vga is usually pretty quick. If I select an unsuported resolution my TV goes blank, says unsupport and then after a timer is up, the comp goes back to the previous resolution. Try tweaking both the card, and control panel/display if you are using windows.

Thanks for the advice but i cant apply those changes just yet. I had figured out that my comp is hiding a nasty little secret. Some sort of virus was picked up in my registry and its causing my drivers to not function properly. For example my cd-rom works and has power but the comp just wont pick it up. When i plug my new hd4350 in the express slot i cannot download the drivers off the cd rom disk that it came with because of the virus, and downloading off the internet is not happening.

Everyone i talk to wants like 200 bucks for virus removal!!! What a rip!
