HP drivers/XP

Ok, i got an HP debranded computer from computergeeks.com and i slap on XP. So apparently after you put on xp, unlike vista, you need to manually install all the drivers urself. I went to hp website and they give you computers to choose from to find out what drivers you need but my computer is not up there. All i know about this computer is this

HP Debranded Pentium D 3.0GHz 1GB 250GB DVD±RW LS DVD

It has more specs but nothing i need to know about what drivers i need. Does anyone of another way to get these driveres?

What you need is the model number for the system there in order to locate the drivers on the HP support site. Simply naming the cpu and drives is too vague since HP may use the same or similar package under various model numbers depending on other options. The product page at the vendor should have that seen there.

Hey thanks a lot for doing that, but none of those drivers listed are the ones i need. I need like the audio and ethernet ones...well those are the real main ones i need.

The problem with the little bit of information found is not knowing anything about the board as far as make and model to go direct to the manufacturer's support site. The only other thing that can help you out there is a freeware called SIW(System Info for Windows) that should give you a good breakdown of everything. Run that and post what it shows. Then we can go from there. The download page is at http://www.gtopala.com/siw-download.html

With that you see the information on what make and model board as well as cpu, memory, and anythiing else. You're going to need that to track the drivers/software since HP was too vague. If the system is too old you may end up at sites like omegadrivers.net or some other 3rd party site.
