This machine will work for days at a time in VGA mode, but as soon as I update the vidio driver it blue screens, I reboot in safe mode and roll back the vidio driver and it works again. How can I fix this problem?

What is the exact model of laptop? The dv9000 has a wide variety of different models. Look on the bottom for a sticker with the model number listed. What driver did you download?

not sure which driver (its on the disk)

which driver should it be?

Ok do this, uninstall the driver you have now and then right click on the device and click on properties, then click on the details tab and give me the 4 digit vendor and device id numbers, which look like this.

Drivers don't change by themselves. Are you going to windows updates and downloading from there by chance? All you should have to do is rollback to the previous driver in device manager.

Things seem to be running ok since my last post, as long as I do'nt update the drive the system works fine :D

Thanks for your help guys.
