HP DV9700 32 or 64?

I have a HP DV9720 laptop. It says AMD turion 64 dual processors, 2g ram.

I installed Vista a few years ago "Off the shelf" new Vista Home Premium.

I tried to install Microsoft Mappoint maping software, but it gives me a problem saying I'm running 32 bit and the program must have a 64bit system.

I remember when I first installed Vista I didn't think about 32 or 64.

How can I find out, without trying to reinstall Vista to see if I can pick the 64 option?

I need the 64 bit to run the new program, what can I do?

The only thing you can do is reformat and reinstall with a 64-bit copy of Vista. You can't 'change' the current 32-bit OS into a 64-bit OS without reinstalling. Sorry.

Does the "64" in the AMD Turion 64 mean 64bit?

I just looked at the Vista DVD and it says 32bit software only.

I wished I had bought the 64 now.
