big problem with laptop/tried to install ssd/cloned from hd as per instuctions
when all was done system won't boot-or start- i put original hdd back in and
same problem-damn- i know cloning isn't the best choice.<--this was vista
operating system- ok , so now i think i'll install win7 from dvd- to ssd
win 7 gets to completing set up and stops- i let it sit for awhile and nothing
i can get into a dos command for win 7 dvd- repair section but i'm stuck as to what commands etc to perform, also win 7 32 bit- i meet all requirments
with laptop- the only thing to in bios there is no achi setting or anything
to change except boot order, i wish it was like my desktop way easy
i hope i explained this properly and i sure hope someone can help

bios will recognize hd as i've done harddrive disk check from bios/ system goes thru start up screen and then black with a blinking cursor on top left of screen- no vista or anything-when i hit any button on keyboard a loud beep emits from unit- i am lost for things to try- garbage maybe??
 
Windows 7 will have no issues installing either ahci or non ahci setups. Sounds like you may have a hardware issue of some sort.
 
john b-problem solved for good i hope- i took original hdd and temp.installed
in my desktop- i marked the recovery partion as active- i put it back in laptop
and it booted right to hp recovery that was built into hdd-without hitting
f11- i am now up and running with vista and i think i will leave well enough alone- bad news wasted a lot of time -good news i have another ssd for
desktop- thanks john b. take care
