HP/IE fix

I have a problem with an HP PC - pavilion t550.uk

My ISP is BT and I want to use the BT/Yahoo browser. When I try to install it everything goes fine, BT are satisfied it's OK but it just disappears into thin air.

Same with Yahoo - I am stuck with IE whether I like it or not. :mad:

Any help would be gratefully received.

HP/IT Fix Help!!!

Thanks monkeysims and APM98 for your help.

I installed firefox only to find BT saying it needed IE to enable me to reach its help file.

It's the browser of BTYahoo I need to access the full function of BT's programs on my desktop. It installed perfectly on my laptop but just disappears after installation on my HP pavilion t550.uk

I'm too old to be well versed in the rites and rituals of PCs but the problem does seem to be that the HP software is just not allowing the browser, icons etc to complete its installation.

My PC was given to me by a friend (it was new in 2004) and HP won't speak to me because I'm not the original purchaser.

I am most grateful for your suggestion but any further thoughts would be very gratefully received.
