This laptop is $1,000 even. I wanted to know what you guys think, and if you have any suggestions on my choices.

-XP Home
-AMD Athlon 64 3200 (2.0ghz/512 L2 cache)
-15.4" WXGA Widescreen w/ Brightview Technology
-128mb ATI Radeon XPress 200M w/HyperMemory (dedicated, and can use another 128mb shared memory)
-512mb RAM (1x 512 w/ an extra slot for later)
-80gb HDD 5400 RPM
-DVD burner Double Layer
-Intergrated 802.11b/g Wireless Lan
-8 Cell Lithiom Ion Battery
-and a few extras that aren't important
-Oh, and Free shipping

Thanks for your input :)

I think it's a good laptop, whatever you're gonna be using it for. That GPU might not be able to play all recent games (or maybe with uber-low grafix).

what are you going to be doing with that laptop gaming or multitasking

I am going to use CAD, Photoshop and do some light gaming. I think it would run UT2004 and Halo ok.

eh, i just got a computer with that same specs cept with an amd 3800+ processor, a gig of ram and a 12 cell battery for $1000

it should work pretty good for cad and photoshop, but if your only doing light gaming, i would try and get a P4 or PM. And it should deffinetly play UT2004, not sure about Halo though.

it was a special deal at office depot, go there and see if they still have it, you choose the parts and they built it and mail it to you. it has a couple of rebates so it was about 1200 before rebates. yes its the same gpu, the xpress 200 is not very good for gaming, i can play Counter strike source on ULTRA LOW effects at 480x520 or somthing and get 20-30 fps

I just wish that HP laptop had better graphics performance, other then that I think it is an excellent laptop. Maybe "Cyber Power System" or "I Buy Power" will be a better choice, because their lower priced laptops have 128mb 9700 Pros and X700s in them, which would obviously be alot better then the Radeon Xpress 200M. I just don't know about the quality of there notebooks. Anyways, thanks for all of your help.
