HP monitor doesn't turn on

The monitor that came with my computer (HP pavillion vf17 LCD flat panel) does not turn on at all. when the power button is pressed the green light comes on then it goes right back out and nothing else happens. When the button is pressed again the light does not come on at all. I plugged in this CRT that I am on right now and it works fine. ANyone know if the monitor is done, or can it be repaired. Also would it be worth repairing. I don't do gaming so the monitor is not a huge deal to me. I just don't want this huge boat anchor sitting on my desk. Any help is appreciated. Don't get too technical, I know some but not a lot. (keep it in simple terms.)

It is over a year old now. They won't return it. It is well out of warranty. So I guess no one on this forum knows if this is repairable or not not huh? I figured this was just a gamer forum that everyone wants to know what every one else has that way they can play the same games. pease bitches i'll try else where.:D
