HP Pavilion m7/Windows 7 sleep issue

Hi, I have an m7 with windows 7 that is giving me an issue with sleep. My power options are set to sleep when I close the lid. My issue seemed to start sometime in the last 6 months. When I close my lid about ever 4 or 5 times the computer does not go to sleep. The screen stays black after opening, the HP light, power and HDD lights are still illuminated and I have control to turn the keyboard illumination on and off. The laptop stays in suspended in this for a few minutes until it just shuts down. Upon restart I am presented with an error message that does not give much detail other than that it was a blue screen error.

Any ideas?
 
Download BlueScreenView
No installation required.
Unzip downloaded file and double click on BlueScreenView.exe file to run the program.
When scanning is done, go Edit>Select All.
Go File>Save Selected Items, and save the report as BSOD.txt.
Open BSOD.txt in Notepad, copy all content, and paste it into your next reply.

Did you zip up the file or are you trying to attach it as is? You can use mediafire or filedropper.
 
Looks like you need to update your chipset driver. Go to HP's support website for your particular model and download the chipset driver.

Okay, I have updated my chipset driver (I thought I had done this a year ago or so) What led you to this conclusion?

I'll keep an eye on it to see what it does.
 
The dump file you sent me said that the driver causing it was pci.sys. This is included in the chipset driver.
 
Same file name. PCI.sys You may have to try reinstalling windows to see if that cures it. If not, then you have an issue with the motherboard.
