hp pavilion p6126f restarting with blank screen

Hello Everyone,

I have a hp pavilion p6126f desktop configured with an AMD Athlon 7750, 6GB DDR2 RAM, 750GB HHD, DVD BURNER and Integrated NVIDIA GEFORCE 9100. It has windows vista SP2 (home premium, 64bit) installed.

This was working great until suddenly when I press the power button this mourning and the power light on the power knob came on for a few seconds, fans etc were heard spinning up and then the light shuts off and this repeats unitl the power cable is pulled off. I installed a new working PSU with same results.

can anyone here assist me with this issue.

much thanks in advance.

try a add on video card, pretty sure that your local computer shop will have a few for 20-30 USD. It could just be that your video is bad.

Also, try removing the CMOS battery and resetting the BIOS that way. May help some.

When the computer worked did you hear a beep when the computer turned on??
If no then I would suggest installing a motherboard speaker which you can get for a few cents or free from your closest computer repair shop. Then install the motherboard speaker and remove all the memory modules and try booting and if it does not make a long beep then there is something wrong with the motherboard or the CPU,but CPUs rarely just randomly goes bad so most probably it would be the motherboard.

Since you are saying you have already tried a working PSU you can void of the PSU being bad.

You computer is not posting.

hello,

I tried installing a working pulled PCIe video card with no results. I also tried re-seating the cpu with same results. I am going to try a new motherboard. thanks for all your suggestions.

there is still a lot you can try before having to resort to a new motherboard (and linked new windows since its a branded system).

Try reseating your RAM, and try the motherboard speaker.
