HP Pavillion a6442 - put back together wrong?

Hi there,

A year ago, I had a working PC. I brought it up to Uni to find it worked for about 20 mins then stopped displaying. I ended up following an advice thread suggesting I take the components out and give them a clean to then put them back. Though I fear I put them back wrong...

It's been a while now but;

The computer turns on, though still doesn't display. It makes 3 beeps. followed by 4 low beeps and then a high beep.

Does anyone know how to build one of these, or a thread that might show me where to put everything?

Any info would be great.

Tyvm,

You are getting beep codes, that is good.

1st step, remove anything not needed to boot to BIOS. you should leave power, 1 RAM stick, a video card if you have one (if integrated is there, use that), CPU and HSF. then try to reboot. If it starts, then start adding 1 part back at a time until you find the at fault part. If it will not boot, remove the Motherboard from the case and place it on a box or antistatic bag and try to boot.
