HP Pavillion issues

I think you gave me the device id for the ricoh card reader, not the ethernet device. Can you double check please.

Sorry, for the delay, and the error

Almost our entire family showed up all at once. They must have smelled the Cajun cooking since my wife's busy in the kitchen.

When dinner was over they all left......

Here goes

In the Device Manager file,

The working Network Adapter Hardware ID is;
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_054C&SUBSYS_30CF103C&REV_A2

The nonworking ethernet Controller device is in the Device Manager file and it's ID is:
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_001C&SUBSYS_137A103C&REV_01

There are two other nonworking devices in the "Other Devices" category that both as Base System Devices.

Which device?

The two Base System devices which were not working, are now gone from the other device list.

The wireless is still not working, no change after the downloads.

Which device di you need the numbers on/

Thanks

I did open the laptop last week and I reset the wireless card. It's not the plugin/plugout kind you can reach from the outside. It's there but the system does not see it.
I'm really starting not to like HP and Vista.

You may need to have someone look at it, your wireless card may be bad. But if the system detects it, it should at least install the driver for it.

I pulled the internal wireless card that's screwed in below the keyboard and could not find a model or manufacturer number ,so I can't tell which name brand it is.

HP will not help me ID the card.

In the device manager list there is not a device name like "Wireless Card."

Do you know how a wireless card is identified in the manager?

What kind of device is the ricoh?

If the wireless device driver is installed properly, it will be listed under network adapters. If the driver isn't installed then it will be listed as either network controller or unknown device.

Ricoh is your card reader.
