hello, i recently purchased a HP Pavilion DV8000. it was refurbished but i did not think much of it because the salesman said i could create a recovery cd my self. when i tried it said "a set of recovery discs have been created for this PC. only one set is allowed per PC". i have recently ran into computer trouble and would like to remove everything and start over but i need the recovery disc to do this. can anyone give me some advice on how to bypass that or anything which might be helpful?

Thanks

The advice you will hear most often is either order another set of recovery disks directly from HP or buy your own full version of Windows at OEM prices for quite a bit less then retail. Some companies like eMachines will also provide a link for creating recovery disks by burning the downloads for them once you have provided the serial number for that unit. This has to be provided by someone at HP if they also have it. The OEM full version of Windows always seems to work out better since you can reinstall Windows on the same unit at any time like in the event of virus corruption.
