I have an HP DV2000 (the warranty expired on the 8th of this month!!!)
The right click button seems to be stuck down and will not pop back up.
whats my best option?
should I pop it off and see whats going on or what.
I worked on in a pc repair shop but never worked on my own laptop....

Option????
thanks

You should know right from the start then that you would first have to open the unit up to gain access to the button itself to see if it is simply gummed up with dust/dirt or needs replacement. Simply pushing up on the outer button can easily see that broken off if forced. You first have to know how that is fitted into place.

uumm... maybe get one of your other works mates to repair it for you....

It could easily be the spring for seeing the button return to the normal non pressed position that went from wear or dust getting built up depending on environment and simply being in regular use. On some brands of course the keyboard may simply be cheaply made and the contact button underneath gave out. Visual inspection required! :P

(dr. dissect laptop! could you please report to...)
