I need help. Which computer brand is the best and why? Can you also rate the computer brand on a scale of 1 to 10 please. And then, at the bottom, if possible, put which one is the best. Sorry if it seems like to much...I'm real literal. I'm getting a computer this weekend so I need an answer ASAP.

I'm going to have to say, Lenovo. Simply because, in my personal opinion, HP and Gateway make very, very low quality stuff. Or, such has been my experience. But it would be better to build your own, instead of buying prebuilt. You'll ensure a higher quality that way and gain a computer thats tailor fitted to your specific needs.

In short: Don't do it, man.

Thanks for the answer, but I really don't want to make a computer...I'm not really advanced in computer science and I wouldn't even know where to start, even with that very helpful article. :/

You don't need to be well versed in computers to build your own. Lots of members like to help configure builds for someone to piece together on their own. We're here every step of the way.

But if you prefer to get pre-built for general use (web, email, etc.) then get a Lenovo.

They'll both do the job when it comes to web/email/word processing.

I'd look at whether you want the 15.6" size or 12.5". The smaller unit will be lighter and therefore easier to carry if that's what you plan to do. However most people here seem to favor the Lenovo branding.

I'd have to say that I've seen the same ratio of Lenovo machines fail as HP, Acer, Toshiba, etc.. Even Macbooks. They're all mass produced.
