So I walking around bestbuy today and I have to day that Hp must have some of the best looking computers on the market and even good performance for the price. But is Hp starting to build a quality product or are they still as un-reliable as they where in the past due to poor manufacturing and cheap parts?

A lot of people on here are going to say that HP sucks period. But from my experience the upper models like the dv6 and dv7 series are really good quality, especially for the price.

HP has really done a lot of innovation in the design of their laptops to make them exceptional media PC's. From the way the internal components are arranged to the placement of the ports and speakers were all re-designed for the best results possible. At least for the models I'm talking about. Any lower models are just thrown together pieces of junk.

Haha, listen to me. I sound like an HP rep. But seriously, I've worked with HP reps and went to HP training events and whatnot.

Well I have been looking at the new dv6 series. They are really nice looking and the quality of the shell is amazing along with the price. I do have a bad experience with Hp tech support though.

HP consumer is garbage. I wouldn't get anything other than a ProBook.

I would say not to touch anything they sell that is not a Probook/Elitebook. Even then. I would still be aware that their support team are idiots most of the time.

Can't we say that about most of computer customer service, I think the only company I have had good customer service with is Asus, Dell is not bad either but at lteast Asus customer service is based here in the San Diego, CA.

I know I have never heard good things about Hp that is why I have never owned there laptop's but I thought I had read they are turning around there manufacturing quality around and as I said as far as design goes they have some of the best looking laptops on the market.

looks aren't everything. Does a Ferrari with a blown engine still look good?

And, we are not talking about guys that dont know computers, we are talking about a support team that honestly didnt know there were more than one version of windows. Also didnt know what a motherboard was, or error light codes from their own laptop. They didnt know what their laptop could support either.

I know this, about two years ago my Mom's Hp was doing a a blue screen with yellow lines. I figured it to be logical the nvidia gpu due to the fact I installed a external monitor and the external monitor displayed the same thing. I called Hp and the guy chewed my ass for explaining my logical thinking.

I was just hoping as some Companies loose users due to poor customer service that maybe Hp who has been loosing sales over the last three years would have reformed there system but I guess is not the case.

Even when you tell them you're a service tech and you know what the problem is, they still want an error code and want you to sit on the phone and do diagnostics. So annoying.

Dell Gold Support is based in the US and they try a quick troubleshoot and instantly ship you a replacement whatever you need. So nice. I wish everyone did that.

Man, yeah, HP tech support sucks, but the laptops aren't horrible. I mean, you can really say that about a lot of companies.

I just like the Hp cause I of the model I found, 14" with a 720p HD screen, HD web cam, core i7, 6 GB Ram, 160 GB SSD, Radeon GPU, 1" thick and a 9 cell battery for under $1500.
