i bought new case/psu (antec sonata2) for my old pc 2.8ghz P4, i transfered everying to the new case, when I press power bottom absolutely nothing happens... no fan spining, nothing, it's like dead... but the green light is ON on the motherboard, so what can it be ? i double checked everything 3 times, everything seems fine...

if the green light is on on the motherboard, that means PSU is not an issue ? what should i do

Does this light come on when the PSU is connected(like showing the motherboard is getting power) or only when you press the power button? I know some boards have lights that basically always stay on assuming they are plugged in... I just don't know how your mobo works.

From the sound of it, I'd lean towards a power supply problem, but it's hard to know for sure. Try your old one...

its p4p800 mobo... when i turn the black switch at the back of the power supply on, the green light comes on.... i tryed old one and same thing, maybe its because i removed white plastic thingies on the mobo where it's laying on them ? but that shouldnt metter since mobo goes on golden screws ?

all i need is to plugin 20pin connector and 4pin atx power in order to see if the cpu and fans start spining, right >?

Assuming from the green diagnostic light on the motherboard you've attached the jumpers (particularly from the PWR Switch) correctly.

Yes, your motherboard has a 20 pin and 4 pin ATX12v.

EDIT: Just read your second to last post. You need motherboard standoffs, the plastic "thingys" that the motherboard was on. They keep electricity from going places it shouldn't. Put those back on and see what happens.

works now after putting them on, BUT if i put screws in the top slots it doesnt work, if i put like 3 at the bottom of the board it works... so freakign weird, any1 know why that might happen ?

Sounds like it's grounding somewhere.
