HTPC build

Im making a HTPC build for my PC to act as a settop box, like stream digital cable and record. Plus, netflix and youtube videos, etc. My max budget is a wimpy $250. Here is my build currently:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147073 A HTPC Case for a good price would be nice.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371045 Good brand, plenty of power.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=848P-NEO2-V Yes its old, and bad. But it should get the job done, correct me if wrong.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=P4531-R However bad, I hear it plays 1080p fine, and Im not gaming or anything, so this should be powerful enough?

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=SB0410-CO-R I think a sound card is pretty much required for a HTPC.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=NE-WN350 Cheap wifi pci card, should be fine.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=CDN667D2D8C5-2G I have no idea about this brand. But, most brands use the same ram moduales, so I should be fine.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=ZT-40605-10L-R Is 512 MB fine for a HTPC? But I want a passive GPU for silence reasons.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=BLK-DV-W524GS100-DO-R Cheap DVD rom, should be fine.

http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=WD800HLFS-NDW-R Its fast, But I think I will go for a higher capacity.

Just get a Mini tower, I never understood the cube shaped box cases. There not a good use of space. A minitower takes up almost the same amount of room but greater expansion room. You going to haft to bump up your budget. At $235, here is a solid base,

Your smart, you can pick the rest of the components :)

That case costs a fortune, fury, for my budget. That HEC sounds like a nightmare to build in. I might go with a A4, dont know why I didnt think of that. I think even a LOW end CPU like that will be tons better than a A4 :P Im setting up a new build now.

Well if you went for the A4 then you wouldn't need a discrete graphics card as mentioned earlier on, you could just use onboard.

Oh skip the sound card. I would also get a PCI tv tuner. Use your gt240 if you are upgrading it from your other rig. If you spend $50 on a CPU and $50 on a graphics card, you could get a quad core APU, just sayin.

Onboard sound should be fine - most onboard sound these days is very good anyway. What speakers are you using? If you're using a fairly cheap pair of speakers then you don't need a sound card.
