HTPC... do my components work together ?? First attempt !

You might just want to build a cheap system like you were going too. I don't know how only that CPU is but I don't think they sell them anymore.

Anybody who reads this post, please correct me.
 
That's an AM2 motherboard, I believe. It's possible to use AM2+ processors on it, as long as Acer has provided the appropriate BIOS updates and didn't cheap out on the motherboard.

Otherwise, this is the only AM2 cpu on newegg...I'm looking for more elsewhere.

edit: Zipzoomfly.com has a bunch of them. I can't link directly to the page, but go to the site, narrow it to AMD cpu's and sort them by price, low to high. You'll see a few.
