HTPC, P4, Win7?

I'm trying to save up for an i7 rig, so I can make my current computer a HTPC... but until then I thought it might be nice to use my old computer as an HTPC.

Specs:
P4 3.0Ghz
Abit IC7-G Motherboard
Radeon X850 Plat Edit AGP Graphics Card
2GB Corsair Dual Chan DDR RAM
1TB HDD
LG Blu-ray Burner Drive

I want to install Windows 7 if I can, I find the OS more enjoyable to use than XP. Do you think this setup can handle the Aero Theme without any problems? The only thing I really need this thing to do is playback 1080p content. I'm going to stream the 5.1 surround audio out of the optical port on the IC7-G to my Receiver... so the computer should only to worry about decoding Video.

Unfortunately my current TV only supports component, so I'm probably going to have to rip the disks to a HD... but I doubt I have enough Blu-rays to fill up a 1TB HDD yet.

I just want to know that this thing will run Windows 7 well and be able to handle Full HD playback. If anyone still has a P4 that's running this OS or uses it for HD playback... let me know about your experiences.

That PCs fine for the things you mentioned above. The X850 plat was once a flagship card and can definitely handle HD content.
