Its Christmas Morning and my son went to turn on the his computer to boot up his new video ipod. Before hand he put in his new keybaor and proceded to put it on. When the computer goes on the monitor light is yellow, the mouse and keyboar dont turn on... but it seems the towers power is working because i opend the disc drive

Please help its xmas and we cant even use his computeR!

Well, it could be good news that the drives eject. Sometimes if the motherboard dies the drives won't eject even if they get power... Though, I still suspect a bad motherboard, possibly a bad power supply.

You say put in a new keyboard. Have you tried it without the new keyboard? I've seen little things like that cause a computer not to work...

Yes i have... i put the old one back in no luck.. its funny it was working fine last night.. the only thing differnt is the keyboard being removed.. i really hope its not any new hardware.. becuase i really cant afford it :/

Well all I can think to do is start pulling stuff. Start on the outside and just leave the monitor and power plugged in. If it still won't work, open it and try to remove some cards(if you can) Go with one stick or RAM if you have two, no expansion cards(just video if you don't have onboard) Try another powersupply if possible. Try without the video card if you don't have onboard to try and get a no-video beep...

I'm afraid it's almost certinally hardware related considering it's not even passing POST... It's just a matter if it's a simple fix or something that must be replaced.
